On August 6, 2011, United States Breastfeed Coalition officially declared August as "National Breastfeeding Month" at a community Baby Shower event hosted by Howard University Hospital and the DC Breastfeeding Coalition. Click here for the detailed proclamation.
World Breastfeeding Week: August 1, 2014 to August 7, 2014
This year's World Breastfeeding Week (coordinated by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action) theme responds to the latest countdown by asserting the importance of increasing and sustaining the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding in the post 2015 agenda, and engaging as many groups, and people of various ages as possible. Hopi Health Care Center World Breastfeeding Week Celebration: August 6, 2014

Fort Defiance WIC Health Fair: August 8, 2014
The Fort Defiance Women, Infant, and Children (FDWIC) Nutrition Program, under the Navajo Nation Division of Health, is celebrating National Breastfeeding Month with a Health Fair to promote and support breastfeeding in our community, we will also be hosting a Zumba event during noon hour from 12 p.m-1 p.m. The event is scheduled at the FDWIC building by the Navajo Shopping Center in Window Rock, AZ on August 8, 2014 from 10:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. Please find attach a letter of invitation and a flyer for this event.
