AI/AN CHAMPS: American Indian and Alaska Native Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices

Funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, AI/AN CHAMPS (American Indian/Alaska Native Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices) works with Tribal and Alaska Native hospitals in Alaska, Arizona, and Oklahoma and in collaboration with the Indian Health Service across the USA. Our mission is to help hospitals towards Baby-Friendly designation and to improve maternity care practices through work with both hospitals and the communities that surround them. Take a look at the About Us page for more information!

The purpose of this website is to provide a tool for community groups and professionals to work together towards our common goal of increasing breastfeeding among American Indian and Alaska Native populations.  We hope you will join us in sharing information and resources on improving cultural competency and professional collaboration.  Discussing challenges and successes is invaluable to breastfeeding advocacy!
